One year ago, I was one half of the very first Pray for Another match. Mutual friends had asked me and another girl, also in her early forties, if we’d be interested to pray for the other to find our Zivug Hagun. Baruch Hashem, she said yes, and so did I. For forty days, we prayed for each other, anonymously. I never knew who she was. All I had was her Hebrew name, and the knowledge that I could talk to Hashem on behalf of another Jewish woman, asking Him to send her Nasib. Praying for this woman inspired me. I felt a tremendous responsibility to have full kavanah, even more than I had when praying for myself. Every time I started to feel lonely or dejected, I told myself not to, because Hashem doesn’t answer prayers in sadness, and that I owed it to my prayer partner to do everything I could so Hashem would accept my prayers for her. One year later, I got to meet my prayer partner, only three days before my wedding. Baruch Hashem!! The friends who matched us up connected us, and I invited her to my wedding, thanking her for her tremendous prayers, which undoubtedly helped me get to this tremendous life moment. A dream come true, BH.
